I've expressed numerous times my love for tweed and how ecstatic I was to see it as a trend for fall/winter 2013. When it came to shopping the trend from plus size brands, I was a little skeptical because I thought it would all look dowdy, boring, and just plain old lady.

Last week I hosted a twitter chat with Simply Be about holiday style. The question, I got asked the most was what to wear to a holiday office party. I know all too well how frustrating it can be to  basically figure out how to look cute and professional for the office holiday party without looking like you're about to hit the club. Depending on your office environment or whether or night there is a theme surrounding your party, I think going for separates is an easy and fail proof way to look festive, chic, and professional.

Um, where did this warm weather come from? I walked outside yesterday completely confused as to whether it was winter or spring. However, I was not trying to complain.

Simply Be has been my go to spot for coats this winter. They have everything from casual to dressy coats. When I saw this tweed paneled coat, I initially got it to wear to work but I find myself wearing it more on the weekends.

This weekend before the snow fell, I had to breakout my blue leather jacket one more time before it starts looking like the North Pole in NYC. I am hoping that we have a warm winter like we did two years ago because me and icy cold weather don't mix.

This weekend, I was so thankful to be around family. I feel like holidays were made for that reason. Throughout the year we all get busy with our lives and barely speak to our loved ones. When holidays roll around, instantly we all know that means family time. The Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are the two times out the year we are guaranteed to make time for our families.

It is finally coat weather and this year I kind of over indulged in outerwear. Normally I alternate between two coats. One dressy and one casual. However, this year I have about six new coats and I love every last one of them. Why do I have six coats you say?

I have a love hate relationship with body con dresses and here's why. My lifestyle doesn't really call for wearing one. I hung up my club heels a long time ago and most dinners or parties I go to calls for more of a Solange-esque look opposed to a Love & Hip Hop type of ensemble.
